After more than a decade of waiting and a slip from May to November, Grand Theft Auto VI is now set for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as Rockstar made official on its Newswire. On the May 21, 2026 investor call, Take-Two drove the point home: no new delay, no price revealed, but a marketing campaign starting “this summer.” What that means for players: Trailer 3 and the start of pre-orders should surface in the coming weeks. Step 2: Check Your Platform, the PS4 Is Out

Here’s the part that stings for some: GTA 6 will run only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PS4 or Xbox One version, the last generation got dropped because its mechanical hard drive can’t feed the constant streaming of the Leonida open world. And there’s no point holding out for a PC version at launch: it hasn’t been announced and will follow later, like every major Rockstar game.

The good news, though: a standard PS5 is enough. Rockstar confirmed that all of Trailer 2 was captured in-game on a base console, with no exotic hardware. No official size has leaked, but an early-June rumor, from a since-deleted post, mentions a file “just under 200 GB” on PS5. Nothing confirmed by Rockstar, so take it with a grain of salt. The ballpark is plausible: GTA V already weighs a little over 86 GB on PS5, and Red Dead Redemption 2 demanded 99 GB back in 2018. Plan on freeing up 150 to 200 GB, maybe more once the day-one patch lands.

Step 4: Get Back in the Groove with RDR2 or GTA V

Five months is also the perfect window to brush up on the classics. AI-generated fake gameplay (one racked up 8 million views in a day before being exposed), dressed-up GTA V mods, recropped clips from the 2022 hack, bogus “Trailer 3” videos… the noise is deafening.

The defense comes down to one rule: trust only a small circle of sources. Step 6: Watch for Pre-Orders Without Falling for Scams

Last point, and it calls for patience: pre-orders aren’t open and no price has been shared. Any site claiming to already sell GTA VI is one to avoid.
