GTA 6 pre-orders have been open since June 25, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar is offering two editions: Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99. The launch is still set for November 19, 2026, with preload opening November 12. Here's what each edition includes, and which one is actually worth it.
Two editions, $20 apart
The Standard edition, at $79.99, gets you the game and nothing else. The Ultimate Edition, at $99.99, adds exclusive vehicles, weapons and outfits that unlock as Jason and Lucia's story progresses, the Vintage Vice City Pack, and a free month of GTA+. No early access, no extra story content: the gap is cosmetics and convenience.
Which one to pick
If you're mainly here for the single-player campaign, the Standard is plenty: nothing in the Ultimate changes the story or how long it runs. The Ultimate makes more sense if you expect to stick around for the game and its eventual online mode, where cosmetics and that month of GTA+ gain a little value. At $20 apart it isn't a bad deal, but it isn't a must-buy either.
One thing is worth flagging: some open-world activities, including tuning garages and a tattoo parlor, are tied to the Ultimate tier. That's a practice we find questionable on a game already selling at $79.99, and we break it down in our dedicated piece.
Where to pre-order GTA 6
The official channels are:
- PlayStation Store (digital PS5 version).
- Microsoft / Xbox Store (Xbox Series X|S version).
- Major retailers, in store and online, for physical editions (Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart…).
Buying from an established retailer is the safest way to avoid nasty surprises. Always compare exactly what each edition includes (bonuses, any early access) before you reserve.
