Want a tank mid-game, maxed-out armor, or cars that fly over Ocean Beach? The original Vice City has 58 typed codes, all but four of them with a controller combination, and the Definitive Edition adds four more. Pick your platform below and the list adapts. Codes go in during gameplay, and a “Cheat activated” message confirms each one.
Every GTA Vice City cheat code
On PC and mobile: type the code as letters during gameplay. On the Netflix mobile version, open Options, then the Accessibility tab, then Enter Cheat Code.
On a PlayStation controller: input the button combination quickly during gameplay.
On an Xbox controller: these are the Xbox One and Series X|S combos. On the original Xbox, the trigger inputs (LT/RT) were on the White and Black buttons.

Re-entering a weapon code while you already hold those guns tops up the ammo, so the packs double as an infinite-ammo trick. The Definitive Edition adds Big Head Mode (EXPANDDOME on PC), which consoles trigger with the Konami code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, then Circle, Cross on PlayStation or B, A on Xbox).

Spawned vehicles appear on the nearest road node, not right in front of Tommy, and climbing into one in front of a cop earns you a one-star wanted level, just like a carjacking. In the original game, no code spawns an aircraft or a boat. The Definitive Edition changes that with two typed codes, listed further down.

IWANTITPAINTEDBLACK is a nod to the Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black” (“I see a line of cars and they’re all painted black”). The remaster broke the joke: traffic turns bright green instead.

Two codes stick for good if you save with them active: NOBODYLIKESME and FIGHTFIGHTFIGHT. Every other effect wears off when you re-enter the code or reload.

Start a mission with a character skin active and Tommy keeps that look in the cutscenes too, which makes for some strange Lance Vance monologues.
Keyboard-only, removed and new codes
Four classic codes never had a console combo, and one PlayStation 2 combo never had a typed version. Sources disagree on which of them survived into The Definitive Edition: GTA Wiki lists them all as missing, GTABase still lists most of them. Both agree on two losses: the invisible cars code WHEELSAREALLINEED and the cigarette code CERTAINDEATH.

The remaster also brought four codes of its own, typed on PC and mobile. Only Big Head Mode has a console input, the Konami code.

How Vice City’s cheats work
The 2002 original uses the same cheat system as GTA III: no menu, just a sequence typed or pressed mid-game. The original even accepts codes from the pause menu. Cheating has a hidden cost: most codes knock 1,000 points off your criminal rating, and the game warns you when you try to save after using one.
Most players now go through GTA: The Trilogy The Definitive Edition, released November 11, 2021 on PS5, PS4, Xbox, Switch and PC, then on mobile via Netflix on December 14, 2023. Nearly every code carried over, four new ones arrived, and a cheat now disables trophies and achievements on that save.

Cheats on mobile: Netflix and Android
On the Netflix version, tap the map in the corner of the screen, open Options, go to the Accessibility tab and tap Enter Cheat Code, just below Color Blind Mode. A keyboard pops up and the PC codes work as-is. Pair a controller and the console combos work too.
The older Android app has its quirks. You hold the Home button to bring up the keyboard, PANZER gives you a Landstalker the first time instead of a tank and random cars after that, and LEAVEMEALONE only removes two stars instead of clearing the wanted level.
Our expert tips
Save to a separate slot before your first cheat: the riot and hatred codes are unforgiving. Since no code hands you cash, a clean campaign still runs through Tommy’s businesses. And if you’re chasing achievements in The Definitive Edition, keep the codes for a sandbox save.

Is there a money cheat in GTA Vice City?
No. GTA III has IFIWEREARICHMAN and San Andreas has HESOYAM, but Vice City never got a cash code. Tommy has to earn his money through missions and the businesses he buys, like Sunshine Autos, the print works and the Malibu Club. ASPIRINE, which refills your health and repairs your car, is the closest thing to a lifeline.
Do cheat codes disable trophies and achievements?
The 2002 original had no trophies or achievements. In The Definitive Edition (2021), entering a cheat disables trophies and achievements on that save file. Keep a clean save for your 100 percent run and cheat on a separate slot.
How do I enter cheats on PS5, PS4 or Xbox?
Input the button combination quickly during gameplay. Health (ASPIRINE) is R1, R2, L1, Circle, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up on PlayStation and RB, RT, LB, B, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up on Xbox One and Series X|S.
How do you enter cheats in GTA Vice City on Netflix mobile?

Is there a helicopter or plane cheat in Vice City?
Not in the original 2002 game, whose vehicle codes only spawn ground vehicles, from the Rhino tank to the Caddy. The Definitive Edition adds two typed codes: AMERICAHELICOPTER spawns a Hunter attack helicopter, and FLYINGWAYS spawns a plane (a Skimmer according to GTABase, a Dodo according to other guides). With no console combo listed, they are typed on PC or mobile.
