Personal data: what we collect and why

The data controller is the site's publisher. Here are all the processing activities, their purpose and legal basis (GDPR).

1. Newsletter

If you fill out the sign-up form, we collect your email address, plus the language and source of your sign-up (stats). Purpose: to alert you when GTA VI pre-orders open and send the game's major news. Legal basis: your consent, withdrawable at any time.

2. Comments

If you leave a comment under an article, we store the nickname and text you enter (no account or email required). The nickname and comment are displayed publicly after moderation. Purpose: to enable discussion between readers. Legal basis: your consent (submitting the comment). Comments are moderated and may be removed if they break our rules (spam, hateful or illegal content, third-party personal data).

3. Likes

An article's "like" button stores no direct personal data: only a technical fingerprint of your IP address (hashed), solely to prevent the same visitor from counting multiple times. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing a reliable counter.

4. IP address fingerprint (anti-abuse)

For the newsletter, comments and likes, we store a fingerprint (salted hash) of your IP address, never in plain text. It is used solely to limit automated sign-ups and submissions and to de-duplicate likes. It is never used to identify you or cross-referenced with other data.

5. Analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics), without cookies, based on aggregated and anonymous data (page views, country, referrers). It cannot identify you individually.

6. Anti-bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

The forms (newsletter, comments) are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly anti-bot check (no advertising tracking). It may set a technical cookie strictly necessary for the form's security.

Cookies

GTA Zone uses no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. The only possible cookies are strictly necessary technical cookies (form security via Turnstile). Our analytics work without cookies. No cookie consent is therefore required for simple browsing.
