Rockstar is shifting into high gear. The studio just announced that GTA 6 pre-orders will open on June 25, 2026, across digital storefronts and at select retailers, and dropped the game’s official cover art in the same breath. Two pieces of news that say a lot about the home stretch toward November 19.

Pre-Orders Open June 25, and Here Is Where

Rockstar’s message is plain: pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers. In practice, that means the PlayStation Store for PS5 and the Xbox Store for Xbox Series X|S, the game’s only two launch platforms. No PS4, no Xbox One, no PC for now, so no pre-order on those systems either.

This is the very first time a “pre-order” button will show up for GTA 6. The studio does not usually open pre-orders far ahead: for GTA 5, they went live a few months before the September 2013 launch. Here, opening on June 25 for a November release fits the timeline Take-Two laid out on its May 21 earnings call, which placed the start of the marketing push in late June.

The Official Cover Art, Revealed and Downloadable

Most of all, Rockstar paired the announcement with the game’s final artwork, which it put up as a free download on rockstargames.com/VI. The studio leans back into its signature visual grammar, the vignette collage it introduced with GTA III in 2001 and made iconic with GTA 5: around the big purple “VI” logo, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos sit front and center, surrounded by fragments of Leonida.

Every bit of the game’s DNA is in there: a yellow supercar, a speedboat with its inflatable pink flamingo, a swamp alligator, a biker mid-wheelie, a robber outside a bank, and mogul Boobie Ike, shades and gold chains, already seen in Trailer 2. The pastel neon palette, setting sun and turquoise reflections, seals the modern Vice City look Rockstar has been refining since the very first tease.

A November 19 Date Now Set in Stone

Opening pre-orders is no marketing footnote: it is a commitment. You do not take players’ money on a date you still plan to move. After the spring-to-fall delay, this June 25 effectively locks in November 19, 2026, a date Take-Two has already hammered home, having built its entire fiscal 2027 around it, targeting up to $8.2 billion in net bookings. The machine is running, and a Trailer 3 is expected in the same summer window.

The Price, the Big Unknown Still to Come

One thing is missing from the lineup: the price tag. Rockstar announced neither a price nor edition details at the reveal. The rumor of a $100 GTA 6 for the standard edition, which would make it the first game to cross that line, has been circulating for months, but it stays a rumor as long as the store shows nothing. We broke down what is known and what is pure speculation in our piece on the price of GTA 6. The answer will very likely land on June 25, the moment you hit that button.

Until then, the simplest move is to be ready. Keep an eye on the state of pre-orders, on the release date and on the official platforms, and we’ll send you the link the moment it goes live.
